Around 18:00 hours the Honey Brook Fire Company Ambulance was dispatched with Lancaster County Station 3-4 (Caernarvon) and Medic 9 for an industrial rescue. Ambulance 33-2 arrived to find a backhoe on it's side down a 30 foot embankment with the patient sitting on the side of the road, being attended to by Lancaster County Station 3-4 firefighters. While patient care was being performed by the firefighters and EMS crew, Medic 9 arrived and advised crews that the patient should be flown to a trauma center. Sky FlightCare was dispatched and Station 3-4 landed the helicopter in a nearby field. Ambulance and fire crews loaded the patient into the helicopter so he could arrive at a trauma center as soon as possible. Crews returned to thescene to watch the towing company upright the backhoe. Once the backhoe was uprighted one firefighter drove it back to the patient's residence. Ambulance 33-2 and Lancaster County 3-4 units were made available.
