April 16, 2024

At 19:39 last evening, Station 33 was dispatched full-company to assist the Wagontown Fire Company (35) for a reported garage fire in West Caln Township. Initial reports stated a detached garage on fire, with exposure to the dwelling. Chief 35 arrived at the 100 block of Kaolin Rd. and confirmed a 30' x 30' two-story, detached garage that was well off and had fire in the dwelling, which was only feet away. Chief 35 requested the working fire dispatch for the dwelling, and established command. Engine 35 arrived and initiated fire attack, followed by Tanker 35 and Ladder 41.

Engine 33-1 arrived as the 3rd due engine and immediately stretched a line with Engine 35's crew to the second floor of the dwelling. The crew from 33-1 and Engine 35 worked to extinguish the fire inside the home, open up, and ventilate. The crew from Engine 33-5 assisted with fire attack and opening up inside the garage, while it's chauffeur shuttled water to the scene. Rescue 33 established RIT, a critical role as firefighters were working in two separate structures which were involved. All crews assisted with thorough overhaul and mop-up efforts.

Honey Brook units were in-service for roughly 2.5 hours before clearing the scene. We'd like to thank Garden Spot Fire Rescue (L39) for covering our local while we operated at this incident. This fire is under investigation by the Fire Marshall's office,

21 Honey Brook Volunteers made the response to this Mutual-Aid assignment.

Units: Engine 33-1, Engine 33-5, Rescue 33
