At 16:39 on Wednesday afternoon, the HBFC was due as the RIT assignment assisting Co. 49 (EBFC) on the 1300 BLK of Horseshoe Pike, in East Brandywine Township for a reported dwelling. Chester County Fireboard was receiving multiple calls stating flames seen from the rear of the residence, and a large column of smoke in the area. Deputy 49 arrived and reported a barn that was fully involved, and established the Horseshoe Pike command. First arriving units from EBFC initiated the fire attack and established their own water supply via a nearby hydrant. R33 with 8 personnel arrived and established the RIT assignment on the A/B corner of the structure. E331 was put to work by command on arrival, stretching an additional line from E492 to the second division via a bravo side ladder and assisted with opening up and suppression efforts. When the RIT assignment was stood down, and the crew from R33 helped open up and conduct overhaul efforts as well. Command placed the fire under control at 17:47 hours, and Honey Brook units would be released a short time later.
