Late Sunday afternoon Station 33 along with Rescue 69 (Twin Valley) and Medic 93 (Brandywine Medics) were alerted for an accident with entrapment on Route 10 in the area of Reservoir Road. Rescue 33 made the response with 8 volunteers followed by Engine 33-1 with a crew of 6. Ambulance 33-1 arrived on scene and reported one vehicle on its roof confirming entrapment. Captain 33 (J. Artus) arrived and assumed Route 10 command and requested an aeromedical helicopter. Rescue 33 and Rescue 69 arrived simultaneously and crews worked together stabilizing the vehicle. Crews removed the driver's side door and performed a partial "third door" cut to gain access to the patient. The victim was removed from the vehicle and loaded into Ambulance 33-1 and transported to the landing zone for the helicopter. Engine 33-2 landed the helicopter and assisted in loading the patient in the helicopter before being flown to a trauma center. A passenger in the vehicle was un-injured. Rescue 69 was released by command while 33's units remained on scene while the vehicle was removed by the tow company. Fire Police from 33 and 69 closed Route 10 between Best Rd and Todd Rd while crews worked at the scene.

Thanks to the men and women who were at Station 33 for the hot food and beverages waiting for us!
