Norco Fire Company Past Chief Passes

Jack A. Schaeffer, 50, husband of Catherine M. (Moyer) Schaeffer, of Pottstown, passed away on Tuesday at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center with his loving family and friends by his side.

Born in Pottstown, he was a son of Jean (Pollock) Schaeffer and Linwood Schaeffer.

He was a thirty year member of the Norco Fire Company and spent the last seven years as its Chief. Jack was also an employee for over thirty years of Pottstown Trap Rock Quarries, a member of the Pottstown Quoit Club, and a member of the Cedarville United Methodist Church of Pottstown. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends.

Jack will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, son, brother, and uncle.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is also survived by his children, Ian Schaeffer, Colton Schaeffer, and Amanda Stetler, all of Pottstown; his siblings, Gary Schaeffer (husband of Linda), Kenny Schaeffer, Linda Richter (wife of Randy), Jill Yonkovitch (wife of Tom), all of Pottstown, and his many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service on Tuesday, starting at 11:30 a.m. at Cedarville United Methodist Church, 1092 Laurelwood Road, Pottstown, PA 19465, and to his visitation on Tuesday morning from 9:30-11:15 a.m. at the Church. Burial will follow in Mount Zion Cemetery, Pottstown.

Memorial contributions for his children's education can be made to the family in care of the Norco Fire Company, 144 West Schuylkill Road, Pottstown, PA 19465.
