******THIS IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT FOR THE FIRE SERVICE, WE NEED YOUR HELP!******

The Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) has been around for a little over a decade and has been instrumental in helping the Honey Brook Fire Company #1 update old equipment, make things safer for firefighters on the scene and in the station.

Over the past 5 years we've received several grants, without them we simply would not be able to keep up with rising costs in the fire service and replace outdated equipment. Over the past years we've been fortunate to receive funding from AFG to assist with the following projects.

- Fire Station Vehicle Exhaust Removal System - $92,500
- Hydraulic Vehicle Rescue Equipment - $63,350
- Recruitment & Retention SAFER Grant - $23,698

Please read below about how you can help us by contacting your local representative and letting them know how important this program is.

The leadership of the House Fire Services Caucus is circulating a sign-on letter asking the House Appropriations Committee to provide $405 million each for the Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) and Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) programs. Providing a combined $810 million for AFG and SAFER would restore the programs to the level provided in FY 2011. Use the NVFC's Engage website to send your U.S. Representative a message asking them to sign onto the Fire Caucus letter!
