Working House Fire on Churchtown Rd.

At 0048 hours Station 33 (Honey Brook), Lancaster Station 49 (White Horse), Ladder 69 (Twin Valley) Lancaster Rescue 39 for RIT (Garden Spot) and Ambulance 189 (Elverson-HB EMS) were dispatched to the 600 block of Churchtown Road in Salisbury Township for a reported working dwelling fire. Chief 33 (Klinger) responded and was advised by Chester County & Lancaster of multiple calls for a working dwelling.

While responding a Tanker Task Force was added due to a lack of available water supply in the area bringing Lancaster Tanker 34, Engine 34-1 (Caernarvon); Lancaster Tanker 30 (Weaverland Valley); Engine 69-5 (Twin Valley); Engine 48-5 (Glenmoore); Engine 49-5 (East Brandywine). Engine 33-1 arrived and crew stretched two lines immediately, Chief 33 arrived and established Churchtown Road Command. A quick knock down of the fire was established and due to a heavy fire load in the house an extensive overhaul operation commenced while the PSP Fire Marshall investigated the cause of the fire.

The fire was placed under control at 0146 hours. All units returned at 0501 hours.
