School Is Back In Session

This week, as school buses return to the area roads, the Honey Brook Fire Company would like to remind you, as motorists, the need to allow more time for your commutes to work and remember the rules for driving with school buses.

Many newer buses have yellow lights that flash before the red lights come on. Drivers are not required to stop for yellow lights. However, those yellow lights should serve as a reminder to prepare to stop for the red light, just as with the yellow light on a traffic semaphore.

Also, while many bus stops are located on the same side of the road as the door of the bus, drivers should be alert for students, who may have to cross the road to get on the bus or who may dart between cars unexpectedly when exiting the bus to go home.

PLEASE DRIVE CAREFULLY, and WATCH OUT FOR OUR CHILDREN.
