This morning, member Lester Baxter lost his fight with cancer. Lester was a founding life member of Martins Corner Fire Company and ran with them until the company disbanded. Lester then joined Honey Brook Fire Company as a fire policeman and served faithfully until several months ago. I will miss Lester’s almost daily stops at the firehouse during the day to chew the fat. Lester was as honest with his opinion as the day is long. We could always count on Lester sharing his opinion on most any subject from world events to politics. HBFC will miss him.
