Dry Conditions Make For a Busy Wednesday

Honey Brook Volunteers stayed busy on Wednesday, responding to four calls for service. The first occurred at 10:30 when Brush 33 and Engine 33-5 responded to assist the East Brandywine Fire Company (49) for a brush fire on Hadfield Rd, in East Brandywine Township. At 12:06, Station 33 made a full-company response assisting the White Horse Fire Company for a reported house fire on Narvon Rd, Lancaster County. Fortunately, it was determined the fire was in the chimney and had not extended into the house, 33 units cleared a short time later.

Later, at 15:16 Captain 33A reported a 100'x150' area of woods burning near Beaver Dam Rd. and Whitewater Ln. Within a minute of dispatch, 33 units were on the street. Crews were able to contain the fire to roughly an acre and operated for just over an hour before clearing the scene. At 16:14, Traffic 33 responded to control traffic due to a disabled tractor-trailer on Conestoga Ave. in Honey Brook Borough.
