At 13:23 this afternoon, Station 33 was alerted to the 3000 block of Horseshoe Pike in Honey Brook Township for a fire alarm. Just before responding, Chester County Fire Board upgraded the assignment to a building fire after the alarm company confirmed there was an active fire in the shop section of the building. Engine 33-1 arrived first, laying 800’ of LDH from the hydrant to the fire scene. Lieutenant 33B reported smoke showing from the second division of the alpha side, requested the working fire dispatch and assumed command. Crews found and extinguished the fire which was isolated to the engine room and dust collector system. Ladder 49 arrived and positioned on the alpha side of the structure and made access to the dust collection system, while the remaining units assisted with ventilating the heavy smoke condition inside the building.

While operating at the fire scene, Station 33 was alerted to a vehicle accident at the intersection of Morgantown and White School Rd. Deputy 33, Engine 301, and Ambulance 1891 made the response and found a two-vehicle accident with no injuries.

Shortly after clearing the building fire, Engine 33-1 and Rescue 33 responded to a reported barn fire in West Caln Township, but were recalled while en route when the assignment was scaled back. We’d like to thank all of our mutual aid, and Lancaster Engine 301 for covering our local.
