Yesterday, at 13:29 hours, Station 33 was alerted to assist the White Horse Fire Company (49) for a reported barn fire on Mast Rd. in Salisbury Township, Lancaster County. Engines 33-1, 33-5, Rescue 33, Utility 33, and Traffic 33 made the response. Engine 33-1 arrived first, laying 150' of LDH from the end of the driveway to the scene, Lancaster Engine 341 arrived next and picked up the LDH. Engine 33-1 split its crew and stretched (2) 1.75" handlines, one to the exterior and one to the interior. The exterior crew found and extinguished the fire which was located on the (C) side of the barn, while the interior crew advanced their handline to the second floor. Fortunately, no extension was found inside the barn and crews worked to ventilate the heavy smoke condition. Honey Brook units cleared the scene after being in service for roughly one hour.
