Crews from Station 33 have had a busy start to the Spring Season, responding to numerous emergencies as of late. At 12:04 on Monday, Station 33 was alerted to assist Station 35 (Wagontown) for a reported vehicle fire on the 100 block of Engletown Rd, in West Caln Township. Assistant 33, Engine 33-5, and Engine 33-1 arrived to find a "5th wheel" camper that was on fire. Crews from 33 and 35 worked to extinguish the fire quickly and returned to quarters a short time later, Deputy 35 held the command. At 13:39 that afternoon, Brush 33 was alerted to assist Lancaster Station 39 (GSFR) for a reported woods fire in East Earl Township, Lancaster County. First arriving units from L39 found a large, fast moving woods fire and quickly requested more resources to the scene. Engine 33-5 with a crew of 6 personnel responded to the scene. Crews from 33 and numerous surrounding agencies worked for hours to contain the fire, which burned roughly 16 acres of wooded area before being contained and extinguished. At 10:51 this morning, Brush 33 and Engine 33-5 responded to the 400 block of Hill Rd, in West Caln Township assisting Station 35 for a reported brush fire. Both 33 units arrived and extinguished a large controlled burn out of an abundance of caution given the current weather conditions.

The Honey Brook Fire Company would like to remind all residents that dry conditions still persist in our area, causing an elevated wildfire risk. Please refrain from unattended outdoor burning until conditions in our area improve. Anyone looking for more information regarding the dangers of wildfires in our area can be found below:
