On Monday evening, HBFC members trained on vehicle stabilization. Past Chief Witman led the exercise, focusing on the initial phases of an accident that requires extrication. Crews worked on game-planning, tool staging, cribbing technique's, and airbags. This training will build into our next, which will include full extrication scenarios. Engines 33-1 and 33-5 handled a fire alarm during this training.
On Wednesday evening, ten members traveled to the South Brandywine Middle School, which is scheduled to be demolished and joined forces with Wagontown (35), East Brandywine (49), and Westwood (44). Crews focused on the stretching the 300' line along with high-rise pack deployment, wall breaching, forcible entry, and opening up. This was a unique opportunity for us to train inside of a large building with many challenges.
We'd like to Flings Towing for donating and delivering these vehicles, and Deputy 44 for inviting us to utilize their acquired structure. |
