May 16, 2025

At 10:46 this morning, just as a line of severe thunderstorms rolled through the area, Station 33 was alerted for an engine to the 2900 block of Compass Road in West Caln Township assisting Co. 35 for a reported vehicle fire. As the Chester County Fireboard received additional information, the assignment was upgraded with a report of smoke coming for a mobile home, possibly as a result of a lightening strike. Deputy 33 (Romig) arrived to find nothing showing from a single wide mobile home, and established command. Deputy 33 requested the WFD following his 360 and reported smoke showing side (C). Engine 33-1 with a crew of six arrived FDE, and initially stretched one line to the (A) side door. 33-1's crew was met with a moderate smoke condition inside and no visible fire, completed a primary search, and began to open up. Crews located and extinguished the fire which was located beneath the flooring. Incoming units assisted with secondary searches, ventilation, securing utilities, overhaul and other various fireground tasks. Honey Brook Fire Police units assisted with traffic control on Compass Road throughout the incident.

Deputy 33 held the Compass Road Command, Honey Brook units were in service for roughly 1.5 hours before returning to quarters. This fire is currently under investigation by the Chester County Fire Marshall's Office.
