**Official Press Release**

The Honey Brook Fire Company #1 is pleased to announce that we've been awarded $67,000 in grant funding from the Department of Community and Economic Development in support of our fire hose replacement project. The HBFC will use these funds to procure and replace the outdated fire hose on our frontline apparatus as well as replenish our spare inventory. This high-quality hose produced by Mercedes Textiles will allow the HBFC to continue to provide the highest level of fire suppression services to the residents of the Honey Brook community, western Chester County, and beyond for at least another decade. The HBFC began this project nearly one year ago, working in conjunction with Honey Brook Borough, and Representative Dan Williams.

On Friday, Rep. Dan Williams visited Station 33 to meet with the Chief Officers, members of Honey Brook Borough, and conduct a station tour.

"The support and hard work from Representative Dan Williams and his office, Honey Brook Borough Mayor Matthew Halvorson, and Honey Brook Borough Council President Bill Ford, has been second to none. Without their efforts, securing this instrumental funding on behalf of the HBFC would not have been possible" - said Fire Chief Gary Ream

"The successful outcome of this project represents a prime example of local agencies working collaboratively with their respective municipalities and elected officials to bring meaningful, impactful change to their communities" - said Assistant Fire Chief Ryan Plank

The Honey Brook Fire Company #1 has provided 100% volunteer fire and rescue services since 1892, responding to more than 400 emergency calls annually and stands ready to answer the bell 24/7/365. As our community has grown, so has the need for our services. Over the last three years, the HBFC has experienced record numbers in regards to call volume, and now provides first-alarm coverage to a total of 15 municipalities in Chester and Lancaster Counties. We cannot thank Honey Brook Borough, and Rep. Dan Williams enough for their support and ensuring that we have the equipment necessary to meet the growing demand for our services as our region continues to grow.
