| It was a busy Monday for the crew members of the Honey Brook Fire Company #1, responding to four calls for service along with conducting our weekly drill.
10:04 Hours - Station 33 alerted to the 5000 block of Horseshoe Pike for a public service. Initial reports stated the caller could hear a dog barking from inside a storm drain, but couldn’t see the dog. Crews removed several manholes to locate the dog which was inside the storm drain pipe. Fortunately, crews successfully removed the dog and she was reunited with her homeowner.
12:05 Hours - Station 33 and Ambulance 1891 were alerted to the intersection of Horseshoe Pike and Pequea Ave. in the Borough for an MVA with unknown injuries. Honey Brook units arrived to find two vehicles involved off to the side of the road. Crews assisted with patient packaging and loading, controlled hazards, and 33 fire police units controlled traffic at the busy intersection. Ambulance 1891 would evaluate and transport one patient to a local area hospital.
16:04 Hours - Station 33 and Ambulance 1891 alerted to the 900 block of Compass Road for an MVA with unknown injuries. AST-33 arrived to find two vehicles and a large tractor involved. 33 units again controlled hazards and traffic, while Ambulance 1891 evaluated and transported one pediatric patient to a local area hospital.
19:00 Hours - HBFC personnel traveled to Metalum, a local fabrication company who recently completed a large facility expansion and building renovation project. Crews took the opportunity to tour the facility, familiarize themselves with the property and operations, and conduct a quick review of the Knox-Box system. We'd like to thank the folks from Metalum for making this happen, as these types of tours provide great benefit to the HBFC.
23:43 Hours - Station 33 and Ambulance 1891 dispatched to the 100 block of Augusta Drive in Honey Brook Township for a CO alarm activation. AST-33 and Engine 33-1 made the response, and fortunately is was determined to be a false alarm.
