| Just one day after celebrating the wedding of Deputy 33, HBFC personnel were busy on Saturday, handling a total of five incidents including three box alarms and a working mobile home fire.
The day started 05:58 when Station 33 was alerted for a fire alarm activation on the 3000 block of Horseshoe Pike, in Honey Brook TWP. E331 and E335 investigated and determined the activation to be an alarm malfunction.
At 16:20, Station 33 was due full-company assisting Station 35 (Wagontown) for a reported dwelling fire on the 800 block of Cedar Knoll Road in West Caln TWP. Deputy 35 arrived and reported the homeowner had the green line in service, and the fire appeared to be knocked. E35 assumed the role of first due engine, followed by E331 as the second due engine. 33 units assisted with opening up, checked for extension, and conducted some overhaul before being cleared. Chief 35 held the Cedar Knoll Command.
At 16:48, just as the crew of E331 was about to clear Cedar Knoll Road, the box alarm was struck for the 100 block of Strode Ave, in Coatesville City. E331 responded at the request of Ladder 41. First arriving units found a smoke condition throughout the dwelling, and quickly determined its origin was a grill being operated inside the residence. The incident was scaled back, E331 returned to quarters.
At 1800 hours, fire box 3525 was struck for the area of Compass Road and Michael Road in West Caln TWP for a reported house fire. Honey Brook units were again due full-company on the assignment. Chief and Deputy 33 arrived and reported fire throughout a single wide mobile home, requested the working fire dispatch, and established command. E331 arrived as the FDE, stretched two lines, and initiated fire attack. E335 arrived just moments later as the SDE, initially supplied Engine 1, and began assisting with suppression efforts. R33 arrived and operated as the FDS, while Traffic 33 assisted with traffic control. The incident was placed under control at 18:29. One patient was transported to a local area hospital. Chief 33 held the Compass Road Command, while Deputy 33 had Operations for the incident.
At 19:08, while operating at the Compass Road fire, Station 33 was alerted for Brush on Morgantown Road. Assistant 33 cleared the 35 box and made the response along with E69-5, who was standing by at our station. The incident was quickly cleared out after it was determined to be a controlled burn.
We’d like to thank the Twin Valley Fire Department for covering our local while we worked the Compass Road Fire. We’d also like to thank our mutual aid partners in the region for their teamwork at these incidents and their continued dedication to success. |
