By Fire Chief Gary Ream Jr.
November 26, 2025

On Monday, November 24th, Honey Brook Fire Company hosted a unique and impactful training opportunity: a 2.5-hour Active Shooter Incident Management for First Responders seminar. The program was created and presented by Honey Brook Police Department Patrolman Bobby Klinger Jr., a highly decorated first responder, former HBFC Fire Chief, U.S. Army Medic, Chester County Emergency Services Dispatcher, and lifelong member of the Honey Brook community.

Over the past several months, Fire Chief Ream and Officer Klinger have worked closely to develop this training, which focuses on the operational response to active shooter incidents and the roles and responsibilities of each branch of Emergency Services. Backed by real-world experience and supported by industry data, Officer Klinger delivered an interactive presentation that set the foundation for future advanced training opportunities.

Nearly 80 individuals attended the seminar—including 20 HBFC volunteers. Additional participants represented:
• Wagontown Fire Company
• Twin Valley Fire Department
• Thorndale Fire Company
• Sadsburyville Fire Company
• Modena Fire Company
• Christiana Fire Company
• Malvern Fire Company EMS
• Honey Brook Borough Police
• Caernarvon Township Police
• Coatesville City Police
• Honey Brook Township
• Caln Township
• Chester County DES
• Tel Hai Staff

HBFC leadership extends its sincere appreciation to Officer Bobby Klinger Jr. for his commitment to strengthening community safety, and to all attendees for contributing to a highly successful training event. Chief Ream also offers special thanks to Tel Hai Retirement Community for graciously opening their Chapel to host the seminar, allowing us to accommodate the excellent turnout in a professional setting.
