January 22, 2026

The Honey Brook Fire Co. #1 is pleased to announce that on Friday, January 16th, we took delivery and placed into service our new Command Unit.

Command 2 is a 2026 Chevrolet Tahoe SSV, and is designed to be a twin to Command 1, a 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe SSV. These Command Units are to be utilized by a Chief Officer or "Duty Officer" to manage emergency scenes, ensure proper chain of command, and optimize operational communication with not just Honey Brook personnel but mutual aid and other outside agencies as well, making them a vital piece to our daily operations. Command 2 is fully outfitted with a detachable Panasonic Toughbook tablet with AT&T cell service, (2) incident command management boards, fully up-fitted Truck Vault Command Box, (2) mobile radios, multi-band radio, (2) portable radios, EMS first-in bag, AED, water can, ABC extinguisher, pro-bar, Scott SCBA, structural firefighting gear, swift water rescue suit, road flares, and additional incident management resources.

In the mid-2000's, operational leadership identified the need for a Command Unit to be added to the fleet. The HBFC purchased a 1994 Chevrolet Caprice from the Honey Brook Township Police Department, ushering in a new era for the Company. For over 20 years, our emergency operations have been greatly improved, as well as the safety of our firefighters and residents thanks to the utilization of these resources.

We'd like to thank Honey Brook Township for making this much needed upgrade possible. Their continued support and investment in public safety has been crucial to the continuity of emergency services providers who protect our community.

A special thank you to the HBFC Apparatus Committee, who has been hard at work for nearly four years on seven different projects that will modernize and upgrade our fleet, which will ultimately maximize our operational capabilities. Stay tuned for more updates, as big changes are coming for the HBFC in 2026.
