Volunteers Stay Busy on Wednesday

February 5, 2026

It was a busy day for the Company on Wednesday, handling four calls for service along with a public outreach event. At 07:13 hours the box alarm was transmitted for the 100 BLK of Julie Lane, in Honey Brook Township. Chief 33 arrived to find normal conditions from the exterior of a single wide mobile home, and established command. E331 arrived FDE, stretched one attack line, and investigated. The assignment was scaled back to 33 units after crews isolated the source back to a furnace related issue. Honey Brook units cleared the scene within the hour.

During the lunch hour, the Honey Brook Fire Company was invited to the Honey Brook Elementary Center to participate in "Lunch with a Firefighter". Our Chaplain, Matthew York, had the opportunity to teach students about fire safety and spend time time with them throughout their lunch periods. These students asked great questions about the fire service, the tools and equipment which Matt brought with him, and of course, cats stuck in trees. It was a great time connecting with the students. Thank you, HBEC for this valuable opportunity, and inviting the HBFC.

12:55 - Station 33 was alerted for the RIT assignment assisting Co. 8 for a reported structure fire in Parkesburg Borough. R33 and E335 made the response. Ladder 8 arrived to find a small, 5'x10' chicken coup going and the assignment was scaled back. 33 units cleared and returned.

At 14:06 hours, Station 33 along with EMS were dispatched to the intersection of Compass Road and Cambridge Road in the Township for an auto accident reported with entrapment. Deputy 33 and R33 arrived to find a 3-vehicle accident with one immobile patient confined. Crews stabilized the vehicle, provided patient care along with Medic 931, and extricated the patient from the vehicle. Crews assisted with packaging and loading the patient who was transported to a local area hospital.

At 16:47 in the afternoon, Station 33 along with mutual aid were dispatched once again to the Valley View mobile home park for a reported dwelling. Deputy 33 arrived and reported nothing showing from the exterior of a double wide mobile home. E331 arrived FDE and made the stretch. Crews isolated the source to a burnt-out electrical outlet and secured utilities to the residence, the assignment was once again held to 33 units.
