August 1, 2009
On Saturday afternoon, the Honey Brook Fire Company was dispatched along with Medic 9 (Ephrata Hospital) to Emery Road in Salisbury Township, Lancaster County for an agricultural rescue. Deputy 33 (Messner) responded and was advised of a subject trapped between a skid loader and a hay baler. Ambulance 33-1, Rescue 33, Traffic 33, and Engine 33-2 quickly responded with 18 personnel. Deputy 33 arrived and advised that there was 1 patient originally pinned by farm machinery that was now free. Crews arrived and started patient care and secured the farm machinery. EMS crews transported the patient to a local trauma center as the remaining units cleared the scene.
