Engine Company Transfer to Rohrerstown
By Deputy Fire Chief Robert Klinger, Jr.
September 29, 2011
Thursday morning Honey Brook members loaded up on Engine 33-1 and traveled to Lancaster Station 6-7 (Rohrerstown) to provide fire protection to their terrority for the day. Multiple units from surrounding counties were on standby due to the funeral arrangements of Lancaster Township fire Department Lieutenant Keith Rankin.
Honey Brook crews spent time in the morning socializing with the Dauphin County Tower 32's (Progress) crew. Later in the afternoon both standby crews traveled for lunch across town. Throughout the day members, toured Station 6-7, played basketball, conducted Rapid Intervention Team Drills and practiced one man ladder carries and throws throughout the afternoon. Honey Brook crews returned around 2030 hours with no calls for service.
We would like to thank Rohrerstown Fire Company for their hospitality and it was a pleasure to cover your area for you during Lancaster County's time of mourning.
