Engine Companies Assist with Working House Fire
By Deputy Fire Chief Robert Klinger, Jr.
March 6, 2012
Just before 1200 hours, the Honey Brook Fire Company was dispatched for Engine 33-5 to assist Lancaster Station 3-6 with a dwelling fire in the area of Route 322 & Fetterville Road in East Earl Township, Lancaster County. Engine 33-5 responded with 6 volunteers in 5 mins followed shortly by Engine 33-1 w/5 volunteers and Traffic 33 followed.
Crews reported to the scene and assisted with vertical ventilation of the fire room, and extinguishment of a stubborn fire in an 1800's period residence. Firefighters had to remove much of the roofing and exterior of the building to ensure all the fire was extinguished. Honey Brook units were then released at 1430 hours by Command.
Thanks to the East Brandywine Fire Company for covering our area while crews operated at the fire.
