Tanker Assist On 2 Alarm Barn
By Fire Chief Barry Messner, Jr.
April 13, 2013
On April 13th at 00:59 hours the Honey Brook Fire Company was dispatched for Engine 33-5 to assist the Martindale Fire Company (Lancaster County Station 3) on a 2 alarm barn fire in the 300 block of Grist Mill Road in Earl Township. Engine 33-5 responded in under 4 minutes with 6 personnel and arrived onscene in 12 minutes. Engine 33-5 filed inline for a tanker shuttle while its crew assisted at the scene. Initial companies arrived to find a large metal pole barn housing 1100 ducklings fully involved. After a short time the fire was placed under control and Engine 33-5 was released to return to Honey Brook.
