On Saturday Oct 3rd twenty-five members of Honey Brook Fire Company traveled to the West Chester Fire Training Complex on Snyder Avenue. The Department was there for their annual burn day practicing skills under live fire conditions.
Chief Jake Bailey directed the days efforts and was assisted in keeping the live fires burning by firefighters from Parkesburg, Coatesville, Modena, Avondale and Garden Spot Fire departments.
Evolutions included simulated basement fires, building fire with victims entrapped, multiple fires inside one structure.
The very first training evolution was dispatched before arrival on the drill grounds as units were southbound on Rt 202. The Chief explained that this was to reinforce being ready to go during the drive to the call. Fire and smoke was billowing from the training structure on arrival of crews giving a realistic feel to the drill.
Units Engine 33-1, Engine 33-5, Rescue 33, and Squad 33 responded to this day of training.

Longwood Fire Company provided a standby Engine for the day and that unit responded to a Motor Vehicle Accident at Main Street and Maple Street (Honey Brook Borough) at 12:45 hrs.
A total of five ambulances and several paramedic units responded to care and transport the injured to local hospitals.

To end a busy day, Engine 33-5 (with six) responded to a standby at Station 139 (West Bradford sub-station) while numerous companies operated on a house fire on Hillcrest Lane. (West Bradford Township)
