Crews Handle Multiple Box Alarms

Honey Brook crews stayed busy Saturday morning handling four calls, including two box alarm assignments. At 07:48 Rescue 33 was alerted to assist the Keystone Valley Fire Department (8) for an outbuilding on the 500 block of Zion Hill Rd, in West Sadsbury Township. First arriving units found a large work shed fully involved and made quick work of the incident. Shortly after arriving, the fire was placed under control and Rescue 33 was redirected to Station 8 to cover their local while they mopped up.
Just as Rescue 33 was clearing the standby assignment, crews were notified of a barn fire on the 200 block of Twin County Rd, in Caernarvon Township, Lancaster County. Rescue 33 was on the street before dispatch, which would request Station 33 for a full company to assist Lancaster Station 34. First arriving units from 34 found a large, 1.5-story barn with fire through the roof and requested the second alarm assignment. Engine 33-5 laid out from the drive on Red School Rd. roughly 700' and pulled a draft from the Conestoga River. Engine 33-1 laid out from the fire scene to the bridge on Twin County Rd, roughly 1,400', and also pulled a draft. Both Honey Brook engines laid over 2,100' of 5" LDH to help supply the fire ground with water. Rescue 33 arrived and assisted with fire suppression, ventilation, master stream operations, and overhaul. Honey Brook Crews were on the scene for over four hours working this fire before being released.
As crews returned to the firehouse and began the long process of cleaning equipment and re-packing hose, Station 33 was alerted once again, this time for an accident at the intersection of Cupola and Chestnut Tree Roads, in Honey Brook Township. Deputy 33, Rescue 33, and Engine 37-2 which had been covering our local made the response. Deputy 33 found two vehicles blocking the intersection with injuries, adding MIC2441. Crews controlled hazards and provided patient care until the arrival of EMS.
