| The Honey Brook Fire Co. #1 is excited to announce that we've recently placed over 9,000 feet of brand-new fire hose into service. The new hose was delivered from Mercedes Textiles last week, and this evening our personnel finished swapping out the last of the old hose on both engines 33-1, and 33-5. It was an extremely busy day for the Company as well, handling 7 calls for service, 2 fire prevention details, and a line officer meeting in addition to the hose detail and our weekly training. Operational leadership opted to select a uniform, single color for our attack lines for the first time in decades. This change created operational efficiencies as well as reduced our overall inventory needed, which ultimately helped to cut costs on the purchase by nearly $9,000.00 This project began nearly two years ago, with the Chief Officers working collaboratively with Honey Brook Borough and State Rep. Dan Williams to receive $67,000.00 in grant funding from the Department of Community and Economic Development, allowing us to replace our outdated fire hose on our frontline apparatus as well as replenish our spare inventory. This high-quality hose will allow the HBFC to continue to provide the highest level of fire suppression services to the residents of the Honey Brook community, western Chester County, and beyond for at least another decade.
